Who We Are

The Australian-Hazara Advocacy Network (AHAN) is made up of members of the Australian-Hazara community  who have arrived in Australia as refugees, as children of refugees, and migrants.

We are advocates, lawyers, health workers, community workers, tradespeople,, educators, mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters.

We’ve found a safe home and have been able to rebuild our lives in Australia.

As people who have experienced persecution, societal marginalisation, and systemic violence and discrimination we want to work toward a world where the human right of Hazara people are recognised, respected and protected.

At a time of escalating violence, persecution, dispossession, marginalisation,  and systemic violence and discrimination experienced by our community, families and relative living in Afghanistan and across the world, we aim to bring the plight of the Hazaras to the attention of the international community, NGOs, the UN and all levels of government in  Australia.
